Game
Notes:
Brodeur, Stofferahn (5), Kelley (6), & Huhner (6)
Eastview fell to Owatonna by the ten-run mercy rule 12-2. Through 4 innings the score was 2-1 Owatonna but then things fell apart for the Lightning defense. For the game, they committed 9 errors as a team, which is a season high. The Lightning pitching staff held Owatonna to 9 hits but walked 6 guys. Of Owatonna's 12 runs scored, only 3 were earned to the pitching staff. Eastview had a few bright spots on offense though as Spika (2 1B, RBI) & Kelley (SB, RBI) both reached base multiple times. The Lightning have a long break until they play again next Tuesday vs. New Prague. New Prague has won both of their league games by the ten-run mercy rule and got second place in their tournament in Belle Plaine. It should be a tough test for the Lightning squad as they send Tyler Brodeur out to the bump for his team-high fifth start on the season.
