Hope if you wern't at this game you caught it on the radio. A wild South div game, with a walk off ending. Control problems for Cody early, led to 3 Hawks runs, with bases loaded top 2nd, Smothers came in to pitch and got the final out without further damage. Bottom 6th Smothers, Johnson single, KP fly out, Eric walk, Lang singles ,Smothers scores,wild pitch, Johnson scores, Dean sinles Eric scores. 4-3 Plato lead. Top 7th with runners on 2nd & 3rd , 2 outs. A ground ball to Slater at 1st bases takes a bad hop and gets by him to right, 2 runs score, 5-4 Hawks lead. Bottom 9th, 1 out, Tony walks, Ditty grounds to 2nd (2 outs), beats out double play. Smothers battles out a walk, Johnson singles in Ditty to tie game, KP singles in Smothers for a Bluejays walk off win, the 2nd walk off win in 4 home games at Bluejay Stadium this year. Smothers got the win on the hill, with 7 1/3 inns of relief. t the plate, Smothers had 3 hits, scored 3 runs. Lang had 3 hits, Johnson, KP each had 2 hits, and big 2 out hits in the 9th for the never say die, 7-0 Bluejays. |
