Brodeur & Spika Eastview defeated third-seeded Waconia 8-6 in the quarterfinal game of the tournament, advancing to the semifinals for the first time of the season. The Lightning got 6+ solid innings from Brodeur (5 K, 2 ER) who earned his second win on the season. Spika came in relief for the second straight game; this time earning his first save of the season. The Lightning got multi-hit games from Groskreutz (SB, 2 RBI), who had two doubles, and Spika. The Lightning did many of the little things: two successful bunts and some smart baserunning, while getting some timely hits and only striking out 3 times. The Lightning face Burnsville in the semifinals. Eastview beat the Blaze 4-2 in an early season matchup at home. This time, the winner advances to the Championship game.
