Season opener, weather, 30 mph winds and 40 degrees.BRRR Cody got the start on the hill for plato and was cruising early, as he struck out 3 of the 1st 6 hitters. Botom 2nd, New Bluejay Tim (Menard) leads off with a walk, Boomer doubles him home 1-0, Plato would add another run on wild pitch, 2-0 Top 3, Watertown gets a 2 out hit and ties game at 2-2 Bottom 3rd,Plato comes right back , Eric on 2nd, Menard doubles him in 3-0, we add another on wild pitch. 4-2 Bluejays add more runs with pass balls, wild pitches, entering the 6th the Bluejays are in control 7-2. the 6th, the cold sets in as a couple mental mistakes are make,and we relax to early, watertown puts up 3 runs, to make it a game. 7th inn, Whitey makes his season debut on the hill, gives up a little wind bloop, walk, bunt, and 2 out hit, ties the game. Bottom 8th tied at 7, Eric and menard reach, Boomer singles in Eric with the go ahead and winning run, final is 9-7 Tony dominated the last 2 inns on the hill, striking out 4 and getting the win. SUMMARY WP Tony LP Duske Boomer, 2-4, 2 rbi, Menard 2-4, 1 rbi, Nixy 2-4 On a very chilly windy day, the Bluejays were in high spirts and ready for anything. Its wasnt Platos best game, and we are still missing players, but well take a win anyway we can get it. A win makes the bones thaw alot easier..... "These old guys can play!!" |
