| Game Notes: Junior righty Alex Kosinski, faced two over the minimum as he allowed just a second inning hit as the Popes whitewashed Waukesha North 12-0. Kosinski fanned 6 and walked no one in spinning his gem, which was shortened to 5 innings by the slaughter rule. The offense was led by Joe Schreck who had two hits and drove in 4, Nick Helmuth who was 2-2 including a double and 3 RBI, and Kevin Doerr who contributed 2 singles to the 9 hit attack. Defense usually does not have a hand in a game of this score, but, 2B Greg Grocholski deserves accolades for his 3rd inning, brilliant, diving, sprawling stop, and subsequent throw from the seat of his pants to rob the Northstars of a base hit. | ||||||||
