Game
Notes:
In a game that could have been much worse, the Popes prevailed in the opener of the Hoosier Classic, 12-4 over Carmel (IN). The Popes banged into two bases-loaded double plays in the second and third innings, or the score could have much more lopsided. Sophomore Scott Perry got the win going the first 4 and 2/3 before tiring in the 5th. The offense was led by Greg Grocholski's 3 singles and 2 driven in. Kevin Doerr, Joe Schreck, and Tom Hoffman contributed two hits apiece, with Schreck and Hoffman knocking in 3 each. Kevin Robinson contributed an opening inning triple, which got the Popes off on the right foot.
