Eastview (15-10-1) defeated district rivals Eagan Blue 14-2, just 8 days after settling with a 1-1 tie against them. The Lightning got on the board first with a leadoff single by Furnstahl (2 RS, RBI) who stole 2nd, got to 3rd on a groundout & scored on a wild pitch. Eastview struck again after a leadoff single by Ferber (3 H, 3 RS) who stole 2nd and 3rd and scored on a 2-out single by Buck ((3 RBI). With the score being 2-0 after 3, Eastview opened the gates by putting up 6 runs in each of the 4th and 5th innings. 10 of the 11 hitters reached base as the 10 hits by Eastview were the most since they bashed out 10 against West St Paul, almost 3 weeks ago. Ferber (2 H, 1 ER) tied a season high as he struck out 7 and won his second consecutive start. He kept the Eagan baserunners stranded on base all game long. The outfielders didn't have a single putout for the game and in the first 4 innings, only 1 baseball left the infield. The Lightning take a few days off before traveling to Prior Lake to face the division leaders who come in with a 10-1 record. Their lone loss was to the boys from Eastview. Scott Perlenfein (4-3, 2.62) will take the mound in hopes of making it two in a row against the Lakers. Game time is set for 8pm.
