Stark, Sikich (2), & Edsten (7) The Lightning lost their second game of pool play in the State Tournament to Shoreview Blue 17-5. After falling behind early by five runs, Eastview struck back and got within one. However, Shoreview pulled away with eleven unanswered runs in the last three frames to get the win. The Lightning defense continued its struggles by committing five more errors. The offense had six hits and were led by Sikich (sb, run), Higgins (2 h, rbi), & Velin (2b, 2 runs)- all reached base twice. With the loss and Eden Prairie’s win, Eastview was officially eliminated from Championship Play. They continue pool play tomorrow against Owatonna, also winless. Both teams are looking for momentum towards playoffs this week. Owatonna will see Devine on the bump for the second time in a week. He is hoping to improve on his first outing against them (3 IP, 7 R, 6 H). Stark (L, 3-3) |
