FARMINGTON -- Eastview (18-13-2) lost its opening game of the MBT State Tournament to IGH 15-8. They fell behind by scores of 5-0, 11-4 and 15-5 as it was an uphill battle all morning long. Stockwell lasted only 5 hitters in the first inning , giving up two doubles, hitting a batter and walking a batter. After the first, the Lightning defense committed 6 errors leading to 6 unearned runs. Offensively, the Lightning had 11 hits and walked 6 times. Dickson (3 RS, 2 BB, 2B, 2 SB), Selchow (2 1B, RBI), Terlizzi (3 1B, 2 RBI) & Ibeneme (2 1B, RS, HBP) led the way for the offense with multi-hit games. The Lightning come back against North Branch, who finished 2nd in their Gopher State division. Cole McDevitt (1-2, 4.97) will take the ball in hopes of getting the Lightning on the board with a win and keep their Championship Play hopes alive.
