NORTHFIELD -- Eastview (16-9-2) lost to Northfield 5-2 in a game under the lights at Sechler Park. Northfield came into the game in the cellar of the league at 2-10, although they were fresh off a 6-2 win over Shakopee. Eastview got on the board first with a 2-out run-scoring error. Northfield scored 3 runs of their own, sparked by two walks and a double. After the Lightning got one back in the 3rd following a Selchow RBI single, Northfield scored two more in the 5th to extend their lead to 5-2. The Lightning never had much of an offensive rally all night as they managed only 4 hits of offense. Their pitchers walked 7 Raiders for the game and the defense made 2 errors and let a few too many balls drop in. With the loss, the Lightning fall to 8-6 in league and into 4th place. They take a few days off before traveling to Rochester for their last regular season tournament. Cole McDevitt (1-1, 4.99) makes his team-leading fifth start on the season as the Lightning open pool play against White Bear Lake. Game time is set for 6pm at Rochester Baseball Complex #1.
