BIG LAKE -- Eastview (11-5) fell to St Michael in the Big Lake Tournament Championship by a score of 8-2. After St Michael scored first, the Lightning answered right away with some great execution. Following a leadoff single and stolen base by Wilson (2 1B), Terlizzi advanced him on a groundout. Leighton hit a deep drive to left to bring in Wilson on a SAC fly. Unfortunately, the Lightning defense did not capitalize on any other chances in the game until the 7th. St Michael, however, took advantage of any opportunities that were given to them. They extended their lead from 4-1 to 8-1 after 5 innings. The bats seemed to be all used up from the 19 hits in the previous game. Terlizzi made his first appearance on the mound in the home half of the 6th and threw a shutout inning, St Michael's first time not scoring since the first inning. Eastview ended the weekend with 2nd place in their first tournament and now own an 11-5 record overall. They now turn their attention to a big league game on Tuesday afternoon. They face Rosemont who is only a game back of the Lightning for 3rd place in the region. Cole McDevitt (1-1, 4.79) is expected to receive the start, although it has been rumored that Eastview will approach this week's games with a "pitching by committee." Game time is set for 515pm at Quarry Point #1. Eastview owns a 3-1 record in games following a loss thus far on the year. They hope to get on another winning streak after tonight's setback.
