The Jays completed the sweep of the Lewis-Clark Twins when Cal King blasted his second three-run home run of the game over the left field fence off Twins pitcher Josh Richardson. King’s first home run came in the third inning which gave the Jays the early 3-0 lead. However, LC would answer by scoring a run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth off a home run by Beau Balmer. Balmer’s two run shot gave the Twins a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning.
Connor Jones led off the seventh by singling to right field. Later on in the inning Kellen Jones was hit by a pitch which put runners on first and second for King. King took the second pitch of the at-bat over the left field fence giving the Jays the win 6-5. King finished the day with two home runs, three hits and six RBI’s.
On the mound, Cam Strachan and Kellen Jones limited LC to five hits over seven innings. Jones picked up the win to improve his record to 2-2. The Jays improve to 3-3 in the North Idaho League and 10-5 overall.
