BURNSVILLE -- Eastview (15-6-1) defeated league rival Burnsville 8-7 to advance to the championship game. Jonny Selchow went the distance on the mound, scattering 9 hits, walking only 2 and giving up only 3 earned runs (7 total). The Lightning jumped on the board with 7 runs before the Blaze could even touch their bats. Bangh led off with a single and Selchow singled. After a Dickson single, McDevitt had an RBI groundout. Johansen singled and Leighton reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Terlizzi singled in another run before Wilson had a 2-out 2-run double. Bangh singled him in with another clutch 2-out single. After Burnsville clawed back within one, the Lightning scored in the 6th with a leadoff walk by Wilson. He moved to second on a SAC bunt, third on a grounder, and scored on a wild pitch. The Blaze had the tying runner on first with 2-out in the 7th when McDevitt gunned him at second on a stolen base attempt to end the game. With the win, Eastview faces district rival Apple Valley for the second time this weekend. The Eagles won the previous meeting 5-1 in pool play. Jacob Wilson (0-0, 2.52) makes his 2nd start on the season, and first since May 4th.
