ST CLOUD -- Eastview (25-18-2) lost in the consolation championship of the MSF State Tournament to league rivals Mankato by a score of 6-3. The Royals defeated the Lightning in all three games this season, this one being the first one outside of league play. Mankato had 10 hits, many of which were hard groundballs that flew through the infield, which was all dirt. Alex Bangh went the first 3 innings and pitched much better than the numbers show and Jordan Johansen pitched the last 3 innings and shut down a great offense. The bats struggled to find consistency as the umpire had a large zone and took the bats out of many different hitters. Dickson and McDevitt were the only players to reach base multiple times, as Dickson scored two runs and McDevitt doubled and scored a run. The season ends for Eastview at 25-18-2 as they went 2-1 at MBT, were GSTC Quarterfinalists, MBL league playoffs quarterfinalists, 4th place at Prior Lake, 2nd place at Burnsville & 2nd place at Big Lake.
