Game Notes: In this league, teams usually play with a total of 10 fielders (pitcher, catcher, 4 in-fielders & 4 out-fielders). In this game, however, Pec played with a total roster of only 8 players. Despite being outnumbered throughout the game, the Vikings got off to an early lead when they hosted Fitchburg—a lead they never relinquished.

Fitchburg would get on the board first, though, after a couple of singles put runners into play and a couple of walks brought one run home. In the bottom of the 1st, Pecatonica batters loaded the bases on walks, and then G. Daley's double to centerfield batted all three runs in to put the Vikings ahead by two.

After walking the first two batters, Pec's starting pitcher, J. Melvin struck out two batters and fielded a grounder to third base for a forced out, thus holding Fitchburg scoreless in the 2nd. Offensively, the Vikings capitalized on five walks and a single by N. Gilbertson that earned him 2 RBIs...ending the inning with a 7-to-1 lead.

In the 3rd, Fitchburg would close the gap to within 2 by rounding the bases on two singles, a sacrifice grounder, and some walks. But with two outs and bases loaded, Pecatonica relief pitcher, J. Scoville, took the mound to strike out the final batter and end Fitchburg's drive.

In the 4th, only one Pec batter made it to base on a walk, as both teams went scoreless. In the 5th, Fitchburg again went 3 up and 3 out, while Pec managed to increase their lead by two thanks to a couple of walks, an RBI off J. Melvin's single, and a fielding error by Fitchburg's catcher.

Then, in the 6th, Fitchburg again tried to overcome the 5-run deficite, but managed to bring home only two runners, giving the 10-7 victory to Pec.
