Eastview found yet another way of keeping their win streak alive by coming back and defeating Lakeville South 7-6. This is Eastview's sixth straight win. They hit their first 3 homerun's of the season off the bats of Allen (2 rbi), Dickson (2 rbi) & Henry (rbi). They were hitting the ball all over the field today with 13 total hits; 7 for extra bases. Eastview got up early on back-to-back homeruns by Allen and Dickson. The Cougars put a quick 4 spot on the board but Eastview battled back for 3 in the next 2 grames to take a 5-4 lead until the 7th. Lakeville South rallied for 2 runs to take the lead off Melzarek (4 K). Eastview, however, had no quit in them either. With one out, Vossen (1 r) got on with a single followed by a rope by Melzarek (2 2b) then an intentional walk to make it bases loaded with 1 out. Dickson got an rbi infield single which set the stage for Corey Woods. Woods plated Melzarek on a perfectly executed squeeze play to give the Lightning the win. It was a hard fought and intense game by both teams. Eastview now faces Hastings in the Championship Game tomorrow at 10am. Garrett Runing (1-0, 0.00) is making the start for the injured Corey Woods, who has a bad back. This will be Garrett's second start of the season.
