Game
Notes:
Pecatonica traveled to New Glarus to face off against a team they'd beaten earlier in the season, but this time, the outcome was very different.
New Glarus not only kept the Vikings scoreless until the final 7th inning, they held onto their slim lead to beat Pec 2-1.
New Glarus' first score was the result of a single, which got a runner on base; that runner then advanced to second and third on a couple of passed balls, and crossed home on a sacrifice grounder.
The next score came in the 3rd, when a batter was award first after being hit by a pitch. That runner then stole second and raced home on a single popped out to center field. Further scores were prevented, however by a double play from second baseman T. Gilson to shortstop J. Hendrickson to first baseman N. Loyd.
Although Pec's batters had yet to rally, in the field, their defenses matched New Glarus efforts in the 4th, 5th, and 6th, inning as neither team could score.
In the 7th, the Vikings would rally to score one run and load the bases, but with two outs the tying run on third and go-ahead run on second, the final batter would go down on a controversial "called 3rd strike"...ending Pec's hopes of a comeback victory.
