| Game Notes: Staked to a 6-2 lead going into the 5th, the defense allowed 5 unearned runs as the Popes lost a heartbreaker, 7-6 to Slinger. Loser Jim Foy, in relief of starter Kevin Robinson, was the victim of the defensive collapse. Joe Schreck led the Popes with 2 hits, one being a bases loaded triple, 2 runs scored, and a couple of dazzling defensive plays at 3rd.
