The Lightning started their season off with a low-scoring affair with New Prague. The Trojans scored twice in the first inning with two unearned runs without even getting a hit. Devin Dickson (4 IP, 2 H, 4 K) started for Eastview and kept Trojan hitters off balanced all game. The Lightning were hurt by four errors on the night, three in the first inning. The offense was led by Tyler Velin (2 H) and Kyle Jonas (1B, R). They outhit New Prague 6-4 but stranded four runners in scoring position. The Lightning have the weekend off before taking on a tough Burnsville squad on Tuesday. Burnsville finished 4th in last year's MBT State Tournament.
