Good tournament yesterday, I am very proud of my entire team! So far we are: 34-6(sets), and 17-3 (matches) .

RVC tournament this weekend- 2/14 HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Meet at RVC West at 9:00 for team meeting, then we will scout teams 1 & 2 . We are scheduled to play at 10!
Practice Wed 2/18 PHHS 6:30-8:30.
Practice SAT 2/21 RCS 7-9. Alan will be back to work w MH. Kallie is hosting the team sleepover afterwards!
We will scrimmage Botetourt 15's on Wed...this should prove to be more challenging than our last scrimmage and is turning into a good rivalry! Wear white again! Sarah Gray is COD.
I will post info about RVC as I get it! It is at RVC West. This should be a good tournament for us, I'm excited to see our new skills in action! The Roanoke 14's Jody team will participate as well. (They won their tournament on Sunday!)
Kallie would like to host a team sleepover on 2/21 after practice. Please let her know if you will attend.
We are all working hard: MH with 51's, Setters always trying to make their hitters look good,while looking good themselves:), Libero and OH with aggressive defense(making it happen!), and our OH - focus on snapping and hitting a variety of shots!

1. Practice tomorrow at St John's from 5-7 with Bellacino's afterwards. Gary and I will grab a bite to eat as well, so the girls would just need transportation!
2. RCS Practice - 7-9 (6-9 for setters). Alan, the middles coach from Roanoke College will help out our middles!!!! We need to set up 2 nets, so try to arrive promptly so we can get this done!
3. Scrimmage Sunday in Christiansburg - 3-6:30. I am clarifying whether or not at the High School or the middle school.

THE LATEST(2/1/2009)Thank you for a wonderful day yesterday... a lot of fun and excitement. After viewing the final point (Bailey's infamous line shot) on Tony Perez's phone, the ball clearly did not hit the antennae and was decisively in....way to go Bailey and team!!!!!
Our next practice is on Wed at PHHS (2/4) from 6:30-8:30. I understand that the Cave Spring players have something going on at school and we will also miss Gussie... anyone else? I'm just trying to get a practice plan going! Let me know asap! Thanks!

Sat's practice is at Roanoke Catholic from 7-9. I hope to have Alan, the Middles coach from Roanoke College helping out.
Our next tournament is a day tournament in Richmond, (2/14), I have printed directions that I will give the girls. If you are interested in going up the night before, please contact Lisa Perez at firstname.lastname@example.org as she is looking into hotel rooms. If there is enough interest, we may be able to get a group rate. Also, interest has been expressed in setting up a food table at Richmond with every family bringing a dish to share. Kim Klick has volunteered to coordinate this. Thanks to all of our parents for all of your efforts!
1. James River tournament- I need the team there by 8:30. We work the first match then play the next 2. after lunch, we go into playoffs. This should prove to be a fun and challenging tournament!
2.We are wearing blue. don't forget... extra socks, your white shirt, kneepads, shoes, water bottles(please have them at the bench with you), and anything else that gets you through the day!
3. Good scrimmage v 16s. We still need more focus on serves and defensive positioning but we are coming along very well. Hitting has improved! Make sure you keep your goals(both personal and team) in mind! BETTER!

CONGRATULATIONS ON A BEASTLY TOURNAMENT! There were so many good things that happened. The best was that after every day, I asked you to be better, and you did it! All of you. By Monday, you were all playing at least 10x better than you did on Sat! There were some thrilling matches . Overall...a great success!!!!
1. scrimmage tomorrow- 6:30-8:30 against 15's team...so far I have heard that Lauren and Sarah Smith will be late, but will anyone else be unable to attend? Please email me or call...if I do not hear from you, I will assume you will be there! Don't forget the CRAZY spandex!

MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS
I need to have a copy of the USAV medical release form, these can be attained on the Roanoke Juniors website on the forms page.
We have a lot of options for tournaments this season. Currently the only tournaments listed are the "Big Kahunas". Here are our choices:
1/16-17-18 - Monument classic in Richmond. We are currently trying to get into this one.
2/14-2/15- Capital Hill Classic in DC. this is a little more expensive, we are checking for availability on this one.
3/14-15 Shamrock Festival in Roanoke. WE ARE IN!!!
3/21-22 Bid Tournament
4/11-12 Hi Neighbor in Asheville. This is Easter weekend and it does not look like we have enough interest, so SCRATCH THIS.
In addition to these, we will participate in a few 1 day tournaments. Generally speaking, we try to keep these as close to home as possible. The dates have not been announced yet but I will get on it once they are!
Do we want to order uniforms (tops) this season? Or would you like to stick with the t-shirts?
I will post this info as I get it. As of now, we will get a practice in this weekend, then have off until the weekend after New Years. I haven't received any info about our second practice time, but will let everyone know asap.
