GAME ONNNN!!!

After a great teiring round the JDF grizzlies have tiered in Teir 2 with all A teams, Its going to be a tough season for the JDF Grizzlies as they will start off their season Saturday Afternoon vs the Peninsula Eagles A team. These teams have never met before but im sure that the JDF grizzlies are going to be looking for 2 big points to start the season off to a good start. The Grizzlies will then play the Clippers of Naniamo at NIC on Suday these teams have played once before ending in a 3-2 Grizzlies lost, The Grizzlies are looking to revenge that loss with a big 2 points when it counts. If the griz can walk away this weekend with 4 points to begin the seaon that will put them in good shape for the first half of the season.

Griz Trip Up Thunderbirds
The JDF Grizzlies had a not so bad start to the season with a 1-0-1 record coming into the most important game vs Sooke. The Grizzlies started off slow and paid for it as Sooke scored 2 goals in the opening frame. This did not discourage the Grizzlies, Sooke got into some penalty trouble and the Grizzlies capitalized on the power-play with goals by Graham Cronk and Kayle Ramsey. Graham Cronk proved to be the star of the game scoring 3 more goals and adding some helpers. The Grizzlies went on to beat Sooke 9-4. Grizzlies forward Graham Cronk had this to say "We needed to win this game and we did, This was a huge team builder and gave us the confidence that we need going into the tournament this weekend" The Grizzlies are busy this week with Practices and the teams first Dryland at Royal Roads University. Then it's off to the Cowichan Classic in Duncan BC were the Grizzlies will face some stiff contenders and hopefully come home with a gold medal which would be huge before the start of the season.
