As challenges or tasks confront you, taking them on as opportunities for growth spurs excitment instead of doubt. Doing what you can do now eliminates procastination and promotes production. Productivity enhances self-esteem and generates lasting achievement ,Rising up to meet challenges is a gift to yourself.

Today is the first day of the rest of of your life,as with every day facing challenges with minor or major consequences are a part of living, your thoughts regarding these challenges determine resulting consequences or benefits. It is a powerful realization to understand that experiences include struggle with setbacks, pain, disappointment and a need for supportive encouragement. When others fail to provide this support ,doing your best and never giving in to despair will provide, you with benefits of wholeness, contentment and accomplishment resulting in self victory ,a true benefit.

Posted Apr 14/15 - Question your choice ?

As a head coach one of the choices you will have to make is building a staff ,this can be tricky because if you add one coach who is not a good fit your season will be a long one, because that coach can bring down your entire staff.

First thing is the coach referred from someone else if so be careful just because one your friends suggested he is a good coach doesn't mean he is a good fit, as he may not believe in what you are doing and will talk about how he would do things now it is ok to hear him out if he comes to you one on one to talk about something he noticed but if he spreads his own right and wrong way of going about things within the staff there will surely be a problem.

If the choice is a guy you choose there should be no problem because he comes from what you think needs to get done in order to win and he will support that system all the way without question, the season is short so make this choice with that in mind as it takes time to jell as a team but if the coaching staff is put together well you will have a better chance of the team coming together quickly and giving the entire program the opportunity to be successful.

Posted Feb 23/15 - Pluzzling Information

A recruiter made the statement that some college coaches in Texas have whispered that they would rather go outside the state to recruit potential athletes ,giving this quote as the reason [ They haven't been over coached] and offer more of a blank slate to mode, now the problem with this if this is how some of those coaches really feel .

Just a few short years ago the statement was just the opposite , the brunt of the so called problem was stated like this the kid has been playing football since he was 6  and has been over coached the reality check here is that kids, who unless very gifted wait to enter the game of football in the 9th grade are so far behind that even if he should be the fastest kid on the team he won't have technique or position skills and most high school coaches won't be kind and attempt to develop that kid, it's funny those same coaches seem to find a way to host summer camps featuring guess what coaching.

What could be the real problem is control one must remember the mighty NFL is attempting to control the entire game by developing its marketing arm USA Football which is more marketing than any thing else ,just keep the eyes and ears open to see if what this recruiter stated comes out in the open or if it is possible the recruiter himself may hold some type of bias.

This same thing is being said about the college coach by NFL people stating that college players at certain positions are not being developed for the pro game, well one could say it's not the college coaches job to do such things, allow me to leave you with this thought next time you watch a college game watch the so called cover corner in college he is really a turn and run corner he will never play square which you would do if you were a cover corner because he would be man up, he instead will line up tight then bail ,this is why, when you see this player if he goes pro not be able to match up man when asked to he will instead depend on his speed and verses a good receiver is never enough.

Posted Jan 26/15 - The Side Line Parent/Coach

If you have attended a youth or even a junior high school game you have had to witness the side line parent/coach while well meaning but completely out of line ,here is the thing if the kid has a knowledgeable coach who has worked on certain technique and skills development in practice the parent doesn't have too yell or even walk the stands to yell things at his kid that may be completly out of line with what the game plan if there was one to carry out. This type of parent at the youth level goes alone with in some cases poor coaching and while their may be a chuckle the same can be said at the middle junior high school level as well . There will always be a parent who is guilty of this act so I'm not here to state that the answer is ! I'm just stating the fact it will continue to happen where there is poor coaching.

Posted Jul 17/14 - Coach

Many coaches have situations where those around them will question why or what is going on more so when there are stressful situations happening those are the moment's you will see the person not the title go into action, the first reaction should be to make sure emotionally you seek out the potential factual answers.

That would possibly come to a good outcome, be respectful of others understanding you have only a few seconds to make a decision when you loose control active thinking stops, one must figure out what can be done right now that starts the active thought's and begin processing understanding .

Welcome to the Neighborhood of Youth Coaches New Home Page.
