Posted May 7/14 - Wildcats sign out of area players, looking for Host Families

The Auburn Wildcats Summer Collegiate Baseball Club, has announced the sigining of several out of area college baseball playes for the 2014 summer season. "As always, we are looking for local families to host a player for the 10 weeks summer season. "We have had a fairly successful recruting year sigining some key Division I & Division II college baseball players", reports Wildcat GM Ken Valencia. Signings include, from the University of Akron (Ohio), Infielders, Dom Iero (North Canton, Oh), Gerard Rohan (N. Lima, Oh), Outfielder Kris Simonton (Suttons Bay, Mi), and Right Handed Pitcher Andrew Fanning (Akron, Oh). From William Jewell University, Catcher Zach Tyson (Kansas City, Mo) will return, bringingalong Left Handed Pitcher Lane Eichman (Wamego, Ks). Also returning from the University of Upper Iowa is Outfielder Jake Greco (Fayette, Ia), The Wildcats have also signed Right Handed Pitcher, Adam Hunter, from the University of Incarnate Word. "We have had great success with our out of area players", says Valencia. "They are all really stand up kids that bring a positive influence to the communiity. Our host familiies have been great! Posted May 7/14 - Wildcats sign UNR's Brad Gerig

The Auburn Wildcats have announced the signing of Roseville's Brad Gerig, from the University of Nevada Reno. Gerig, a versatile outfielder who also pitches, is currently hitting .293 with 4 HR's. The Wildcats have also signed returning pitchers Zach Saca (University of Maryland Eastern Shores, Elk Grove), Mike Proiette (Sierra College, Newcastle), Shane Martin (Consumnes River College, Elk Grove), and Seve Villaruel (Lewis & Clark, Sacramento). OF Andrew Wilson (Willamette University, Granite Bay) is returning after injuring his knee last summer along with Utilityman Nick Hoffman (Lindsey Wilson College, Roseville). Other key signings are Colfax High infielder David Campbell (San Jose State University), RHP Jordan Bachart (Yuba College, Orangevale), Sierra College. "We signed more local talent this year", states GM Ken Valencia. "Coach Fernandez has done an outstanding recruiting and continuing to buld a top notch program!". Expanding the Sierra College presence, the Wildcats have also signed infielder Steve Cisneros (Rocklin), Catcher Mike Phelan (Citrus Heights), Left Handed Pitcher Aaron Richmond (Rocklin), and Right Handed Pitcher Jordan Weber (Granite Bay). From the College of the Siskiyous, Right Handed Pitcher, Kevin Bevliacqua (Rocklin) will join the Wildcats along with Outfielder Mitchell Samson from the University of Redlands (Orangevale) and Consumnes River's Wes Woodward (Meadow Vista).

Posted Apr 6/13 - Host Family Registration

Host Families are a vital component to the success of of the Auburn Wildcat Summer Collegiate Baseball Program. The Wildcats recruit players from across the United States and in some cases, foreign countries. We combine thme with local players that also play at colleges from across the country. The role of the Host family is to provide a safe, comfortable place for the Student Athlete to call home for approximately 10 weeks. The player will be on travel many days, and will also be home late on home game nights. The Host Family is invited to attend team functions as well as receive season passes to all wildcat home games. Host family children are invited to be part of the program as batboys/bat girls, help with the snack bar, or work the admission gate. In some cases, some positions can earn $20.00, however thise positions will be limited. Players may not have their own transportation, but it is the responsibility of the Auburn Wildcats to organize rides and travel transportation. Posted Apr 6/13 - Wildcats Sign Kancylarz from St. Josephs!

The Auburn Wildcats Summer Collegiate Baseball Club have announced the signing of Stephan Kancylarz, from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kancylarz is a sophomore 3rd baseman for the Hawks. He is currently batting .287 with 6 doubles and 2 HR’s. “Stefan will be one of our marquee players this summer”, says Wildcat owner Ken Valencia. Kancylarz was the rookie of the year for St. Joseph’s his freshman year. As a freshman in 2012, he lead the Hawks in hits, Multi hit games, runs scored, and triples. Stefan’s hometown is Mount Laurel New Jersey, where he was a member of the National Honor Society at Lenape High School. Stefan will be arriving in the Auburn area in late May, early June, which depending on his conference tournament and the NCAA playoffs. The Wildcats are looking for a host family for Stefan and other Wildcats coming from out of the state. Posted Jul 6/12 - 10 Wildcats make PWBL All Star Team

The Auburn Wildcats have placed 10 players on the PWBL All Star Team. Pitcher Jacob Cook and Catcher Reid Clary, will be the starting battery for the Wednseday night, July 11th contest in Fresno. They will be joined in the starting lineup of the South Division team, by Outfielder Darius Washington, and Jorden Newton, who will start at Shortstop. 1st Baseman Ethan McGill, outfielders Joey Havrilak and Michael Durham, and Pitchers Zack Saca, Michael Proiette, and Chad Hodges, complete the honors. The 10 Wildcats are the most any team has placed on the All Star Team. 2nd Baseman Manny Hernandez would have also been selected if he had about 10 more at bats. "It is a testament to how hard these kids work", says Manager Shannon Fernandez, who also was named one of the All Star Coaches. "These guys have shown the class and desire that we expect out of our college players. It is good to see that the league recognizes their effort".

Tomorrows Game will be a single game also staring at 5:00. The Wildcats will wrap up their 6 game, 4 day homestand with a Noon doubleheader Sunday against the California Glory.

Posted Jun 6/12 - Wildcats go 1-2 on opening weekend
The Auburn Wildcats opened their 2012 summer with a 1-2 performance over 3 days this past weekend.  Friday night they lost a heartbreaker to the Marysville Goldsox 1-0, despite Jacob Cook pitching 7 innings of 3 hit baseball.  Saturday, Auburn Traveled to Lodi, CA and lost to the California Glory by a score of 9-5; errors hurt the Wildcats as they could not get back in the game after a late error-induced rally by the Glory.  The home opener Sunday at James Field proved to be a good one, as the Wildcats beat the visiting Sacramento M's by a score of 9-2.  Mike Durham hit his first homerun of the summer, and Mike Proiette pitched 7 innings of shut out baseball.  Ethan McGill (Yuba College) went 5-9 over the weekend and Joey Havrilak (University of Akron) went 4-8 with a HR, to lead the offensive attack for the Wildcats.  Auburn is on the road this upcoming weekend playing 5 games in three cities, Oroville, Alameda, and Vacaville.

2010/2011 Auburn Ace Jacob Cook has been named MSC pitcher of the week for the second week in a row. Cook is 4-1 for the 21-5 Campbellsville University Tigers. Auburn President, Ken Valencia, is actively pursuing Cook to come to Auburn for the 2012 summer season. "Jacob is a dominant pitcher on one of the premier baseball programs in the country. He has an outstanding chance to be drafted. If not, I am hoping Jacob will come and finish his college career in Auburn"!

Former Auburn Star, Chris Elder, has reported to Kansas City Royal spring training in the Cactus League in Arizona! Elder, who started the 2011 summer season with Auburn before first signing with the US National Team, then the Royals, was a standout at Oral Roberts University hitting a Grand Slam to put Oral Roberts in the 2011 Regional Championship. "Chris was obviously a top level prospect when he came to the Auburn team. He fit right in and was an absolute model teammate. He is a class act and the Wildcats are rooting for him all the way!" states Coach Shannon Fernandez.

Posted Jul 1/11 - Mudcats roll into Redding confident
The Auburn Mudcats are coming off of two solid wins against the Marysville Goldsox and Menlo Park Legends tonight as they roll into Redding to take on the Colt 45's.  Game one is tonight at seven with Austin Straus taking the mound to help keep the Mudcats winning streak alive.  The Mudcats will also play tomorrow night at 7 with Jacob Cook on the mound and finish Sunday night at 6 o'clock and as they send Austin Nogueira to the hill.

The Mudcats began their summer season with a sweep of the Butte Sabres with great efforts on the mound and timely hitting. James Lafuente and Julian Estrada both captured their first wins of the season in the double header. Mike Pople came in to save both games. In the second day of Mudcats baseball, the team split with the Sacramento Legends. In game one, Jacob Cook earned his first win of the season with a complete game. The Auburn Mudcats will take on the Marysville Goldsox in a four game series at Appeal-Democrat Park on June 16th-19th.

The Auburn Mudcats have announced their 2011 fundraiser today. The Mudcats will host a BBQ/Horseshoe Tournament on May 28th to coincide with a two day workout to prepare for the season opener, June 3rd in Reno. The Event will be held at the Everybody's Inn located about 10 miles from Auburn on Foresthill Road. "We are a privately funded team and fundraising helps keep the operation going", says Geneal Manager Ken Valencia. "Our roster is full of college talent, and being college kids in this day in age, we try to keep their costs down. We do not charge a registration fee to play and fundraisers are how we cover the operating costs". Come out and show the support for Auburn Mudcats Summer Collegiate Baseball Club!

Posted Apr 23/11 - Mudcats Relocate, announce new 2011 Manager

The former Morgan Hill Mudcats have relocated to Auburn, California. Team Owner Ken Valencia relocated to Foresthill, Ca. 15 miles outside of Auburn. Coinciding with the move, Valencia has also announced that former Upper Iowa University and Mudcat All Star, Shannon Fernandez has accepted on offer to replace Valencia as the 2011 Mudcat Manager. Valencia will serve as a bench coach and manage baseball operations.
