The Ranger College golf team had a solid tournament Monday and Tuesday, March 15th and 16th at Harbor Lakes Country Club in Granbury, TX. The team was lead by John Dukes with a one-under par (71) round on Monday and a 79 on Tuesday for a total of 150. The team shot a total of 302 on Monday and found itself only four strokes out of first place. Tuesday was not what the Rangers had hoped for shooting a team total of 310 and falling a few spots down for a 7th place finish. | Posted Feb 8/10 - Rangers Fall to Wildcats in Close Match | ||||||||
On Friday, February 5th, the Ranger College golf team went to play the #19 ranked (NCAA Division II) Abilene Christian Wildcats on their home course, Diamondback Golf Course. Although this match was not for ranking purposes, it was a very entertaining and competitive match. The format was different and enjoyable for both squads. All matches were played in four-somes and as match play. The front nine was played alternate shot and each match was worth one point. The back nine was played for three points in each match. Each RC golfer played an ACU golfer in singles making up two points and the last point came from a combined team score. There was a total of 16 points up for grabs, meaning it would take 8.5 points to win it for a squad. |

We have begun qualifying for Midland. We will be taking 10 players (2 teams) to this tournament also. Cory Anderson, with his top 10 finish (t-6th) at Odessa is exempt from this qualifier. Therefore, the top 9 out of this qualifer will head to Midland for 36 holes on November 2nd. Results from the first 18 holes are posted below. |
