Posted Mar 30/11 - Longhorns Crush Warriors
The Johnson County Longhorns have outscored the Happy Valley Warriors 25-4 in two games this season, 10-2 on March 14th and 15-2 yesterday, March 29th.  Mark Jennings has pitched two complete games against the Warriors, striking out 15 batters in the process.  He has helped himself by getting 6 hits in two games, including three doubles on Opening Day and a solo home run in the top of the first inning yesterday.  Sawyer Ward has been moved from the leadoff spot as a junior, to the all important number three slot in the batting order.  The three hole is usually where the best and most versatile hitters hit.  Ward continues to prove he is one of the best hitters in the Three Rivers Conference, as he hit a 3-run home run (2nd of the year) in the top of the 1st inning that scored Judd Hammons and Jacob Henson, on his way to a 6 RBI day.  Johnson County is now 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.
