A minimum amount of people showed up at the ball park last night, not in the stands - on the field. The 007's had 10 people show up to fill out their roster, 2 of which needed to leave early (Jeff and Dave S), so it was now or never for the 007's - and they chose now as they struck quickly against the slumping, under manned Supa Flies.
The 007's jumped out to a 8-2 lead after the first two innings on some small ball hitting and quality defence..not to mention a NDHR by Dave Smadella that drove in three runs. (ND = No doubt).
In the third inning the game was basically decided as the 007's sent 14 people to the plate in an 8 run inning that blew the score open to 16-3 and that is where the game would remain as both teams scuttled the last innings to make the final score 16-3.
Kristine Duke pitched for the win allowing no walks and a strikeout, improving her record to 3-2 for the year.
Another marvelous fact are the number 9 and 10 spots in the batting lineup. Jeff Clark and Don Miller have been hitting at better than a 2 for 3 clip giving the team a lot of bodies on the bases when the lineup turns over.
The 007's now sit atop the REC standings a half game up on DC N Marvel. That is also who the team will play Tuesday night for control of the division.
