Posted Mar 9/12 - JCHS Evens Scrimmage Series Vs. University High
The JCHS Varsity Longhorns evened their two game preseason scrimmage series vs. the University High Juniors Bucs on Thursday, March 8th.  Senior right hander, Andy Stout, who was pitching to brother, Dusty Stout, was dominant on the mound in four innings of work.  Stout did not give up a hit and had total control of his fastballs (4 and 2 seam), curveball, changeup, and even a sinker.  He also delivered a sacrifice fly on offense.  Junior centerfielder, Jacob Henson continued his good scrimmage play, as he knocked in the other Longhorn runs with a 2 run single to give Johnson County their 3 runs in the 3-0 win.  Henson also pitched two nice innings of middle relief before giving way to senior, Bobby Taylor, who earned the saved by pitching a scoreless 7th inning.  JCHS opens up Monday at Cannon-Gouge Park to play the Happy Valley Warriors.

*Note-The game was umpired behind the plate by JCHS alum, Michael Reid, who is now a TSSAA Umpire.  Longhorn Baseball wishes Michael the best as he begins his umpiring career.
