Posted Mar 21/12 - RATS ROUTE RENTON

Highline left "no doubt about it" early in their game against Renton.  The Pirates batted around in the first  scoring six runs en-route to a 25-4 drubbing of the Indians on Wednesday.  Nine different players had base hits led by David Erickson and Ryne Phelan who were both 2-for-2.  Jonny Locher was 2-for-3 with a triple.  Senior, Jacob Wydick "took one for the team" THREE TIMES in this one.  Highline used four different pitchers for the third time in three games this season.  Mitchell McCartney started and threw two scoreless innings on a very frugal 19 pitches. Wydick, Jordan Sagmoen and Erik Anderson finished it off with one inning each in the five inning "Mercy Rule" contest.  The Pirates will face a much tougher challenge on Friday traveling to Lindbergh for an early season showdown against the Eagles.  Game time is 3:30.  A map to Lindbergh is available on the "Fields" tab of his website.
