The Angels played three games this past weekend and emerged victorious in all three. On Saturday, against North Island, the Angels got off to a slow start. It took 3 innings before the Angels' bats woke up. With the score 1-0 after two innings and North Island threatening to tie the game with a runner on second, a single to shallow centre field was picked up by Noah who promptly threw it home, causing the runner heading for home to turn back to 3rd however was caught in a run-down. When the Angels went to bat in the 3rd inning, they scored several times and emerged with a 10-0 victory in 5 innings. Austin and Jonah pitched a great game and combined for the shutout holding Richmond to 3 hits in total. (I think)
On Sunday, the Angels visited Richmond for a double-header. In the first game, the Angels once again got off to a slow start, waiting until the 3rd inning to start hitting. The result was an impressive 7 run explosion. Strong pitching by Liam, Jeremyi and Jonah kept the Richmond batters at bay. The final score, 10-4. In game two, the Angels bats were already warmed up so they scored a run in the first inning. Sheldon hit a monster triple in game 2. Noah, Chase and Sheldon pitched well and the final score was 9-2 for the Angels. Special mention goes out to Tanner for doing a great job in catching this weekend.
On Wednesday, May 2, the Angels are once again on the road and play Ridge Meadows. Game time is 6:00 pm at Pitt Meadows Athletic Park.
See you there! Go Angels. |
