June 22, 2012 rainout 2^nd inn at van wert

Good morning baseball fans, it’s a beautiful day in Portland.

The Portland rockets riding a 5 game winning streak motored to van wert Tuesday but wow, it rained.  How about that!  Rockets up 2-0 in the 2^nd starter eathan daggett pitched

13 pitches, billy wellman and chris miller each drove in a run but then the skies opened up.  Game called due to wet grounds.

22 rockets huddled in the dugout trying to stay dry---sorry no room here for umpires they had to run to other dugout----this is a team and these guys are starting to realize they are a part of something bigger  than themselves. 

They drive to play for the love of the game, for the competition, for the challenge. They make the trip for their teammates---our mantra—we got our brothers back-

As I went thru that dugout, I say rockets from Huntington, Pendleton, Portland, coldwater, Muncie, Yorktown, frankton , Dunkirk, Churubusco, kokomo, Topeka, Winchester, Ossian.  These guys know they ;are on the cusp of something special. 

They will all be back on sat this time in Portland,  key league matchup- 6 pm dh vs. the Michigan city lakers/  Portland is the leader in the heartland baseball league, teams from 4 states in this league Indiana, ohio , mich, and illinois

Mananger TJ Jahns is bring his troops and staying overnite in Portland, often in a Winnebago.  He is a rep  for voodoo sports products, their logo on ernhardt jr.’s car.
