Well, the first tournament is over and although the Spaceballs didn't win a game, they played one of their best tournaments yet. I realize that sounds a little odd, but the record doesn't do the team's performance justice. The defense was excellent, keeping the team in every game against some pretty good opponents despite some inconsistent hitting. The hitting will come around as previous Monday games have shown. When this team combines that offense with the defense on display this weekend, then expect them to kick the schwartz out of some teams!

The most important number this weekend was 300. As in the $300 the team spent at Original Joe's instead of at the LMS because the league decided to schedule FOUR HOURS between games on Sunday. That total doesn't even include the Hickeys who went golfing during the ridiculously long break and those Hickey boys do enjoy their beer. Such a long break between games is almost always a disadvantage when playing a team fresh off a victory, so I think it's no coincidence that the defense was at its worst in the final game.

The Spaceballs are right back at it tonight, taking on some muties in what's sure to be an exciting, super power-filled match. Stay tuned for highlights.
