West Bend Thunder Beat Germantown Blue 8-4 In WSYBL action!

On a cold and dreary night, defense and pitching was the story at the north diamond of the WBLL complex.  Hits were hard to come by for each team, only managing 6 hits apiece.

G-town and WB made great defensive plays in the first inning to keep eachother knotted at zeros.  In the second, G-town started with 3 straight hits to score the first run of the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, Josh Brockman turned up the heat getting a strikout and two weak groundballs to get out of the inning.  The Thunder bats were shut down again on good defensive plays in the bottom of the 2nd.  G-town added another run in the 3rd to make the game 2-0.  

In the fourth, Josh continued to pitch incredible!  He wiggled out of no-out bases loaded jam by getting nasty with three consecutive strike-outs!  In the bottom of the inning, the Thunder got  the scoring going with Logan, Riley, and Blake getting on base to start the inning.  Tj, Nick and Matt got hits to plate six runs.

The Thunder added 2 more runs in the 6th to make the score 8-2.  Juan Gurrola pitched 3 innings and worked out of a two out bases loaded jam in the 7th to seal the win.

With the high-powered offense being held in check..the defense needed to be great and it was...TOP NOTCH effort recording ZERO errors for the game!
