The Indians were at home for a make-up game with the tough Abbotsford Angels on Friday night. The Angels were set to avenge an earlier lopsided loss to the Indians on a rainy night in Abbotsford and they got off to a good start in the top of the 1st when their lead-off hitter singled and came around to score on a ground-out to the right side. This was not going to be an easy night vs a scrappy Abbotsford team. Ace Jordan Dray settled in after that inning and was hitting his spots with both pitches keeping the Angel hitters off balance.

The Indians went right to work when Jordan doubled to lead off the bottom of 1 and scored on a 6-3 RBI ground-out off the bat of Alan. 1-1 after 1, the Indians struck for 3 in the bottom of 2 when Coleton reached on an error and then Riley and Max followed with singles.  Jacob Simms then laid down a perfect squeeze bunt, scoring Coleton. Jordan followed with a perfectly placed 2B down the RF line driving in both Riley and Max. Tri City picked up 3 more in the 3rd to go up 7-1 after Alan doubled to open the inning. Aaron laced an RBI single to right to score Alan. Then Coleton and Riley, with another squeeze, had RBI’s.  Jordan was breezing along till the 6th. Up 7-1, he began to struggle with the small strike zone and Abby chipped away at the lead with a combo of walks and seeing-eye singles to close the gap to 7-4 after the top of 6.

The Indians managed an insurance run in the bottom of 6, which they sorely needed, when Coleton singled and scored on a nice 2B down the LF line from Riley. The Abby LF dove for the ball but it bounced past him to the fence, allowing Coleton to scamper in from 1st base and put Tri City up 8-4. As Jordan was at 95 pitches, Jacob Doyle came in to close and after getting the first 2 outs he also struggled with the small strike zone. Ponte drew a 2 out walk and then Cory Jackson followed with a long double to center. Conner and Cunningham also singled to close the gap to 8-6, with the tying run at the plate. Jacob then got Buck to fly to LF to preserve the hard fought 8-6 Indians victory and raise their record to 21-7 on the season.
