WINTER PARK, Fla. (Women’s Soccer) – Nova Southeastern’s Malin Broberg and Sandra Rolon have been selected Sunshine State Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week presented by VALIC.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nova Southeastern senior F Malin Broberg (Stockholm, Sweden) scored back-to-back game-winning goals for the Sharks at the Columbus State Collegiate Invitational. Broberg scored the game’s first goal in a 3-0 victory over North Alabama. In the second overtime against No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne, Broberg scored in the 107th minute to lead the Sharks in a 2-1 victory.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nova Southeastern junior GK Sandra Rolon (San Juan, Puerto Rico) recorded her second shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over North Alabama to open the Columbus State Collegiate Invitational. In a 1-1 tie against No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne, Rolon made back-to-back saves in the closing minutes of regulation to force overtime where the Sharks went on to win 2-1. Rolon faced 19 shots, making four saves.
