| Posted Aug 10/09 - Cards defend Spyhill tourney |
| Cardinals travelled to Spyhill on Sunday to defend their title from 2008. Game 1 saw the Cardinals defeat the Spyhill Canucks 6-3. Hometown boy, pitcher Dennis Gilchuk got the win, Relief Pitcher Mark Jacobs came in to close. Game 2 pitted the Wawota Pats, who had defeated the Kenosse Cubs 3-2, against Yorkton in the championship final. Again the starting pitcher, was a hometown boy, Tyrel Thorpe got the 6-3 win with Colby Parachoniak coming in to close the game and win the championship for the second straight year. As a sidenote, Kenosee Cubs had former Cards Bo and Kirbi McArthur playing for them. |
