The boys go 5-0 on the weekend and bring home the first place medals in the Homer Preseason Tournament.  Here is a quick rundown of what went on this wknd:

Game #1 vs. White Sox - Bailey & Hunter took the hill against our old rivals the White Sox.  We were able to come out with a 4-3 win.

Game #2 vs. Mavericks - Bubba started on the hill and looked good before giving way to Chase who shut the door on any thoughts the Mavericks had about a comeback.  Barracudas Black win 5-4.

Game #3 vs. Bombers - Several boys got to see some action, Cooper, Zane, & Tanner all saw action on the hill and worked a shutout.  Cudas win 7-0

Game #4 vs. Bombers - Several more boys got to see some action on the mound.  Conner started on the hill and got some relief help from Aaron & Zane.  Pitchers set the tone in this 15-1 win.

Game #5 vs. Mavericks - Nolan started on the hill and settled down after a giving up a run in the first to shut them out of the final four innnings.  Cudas win preseason tourney with a 3-1 win over the Mavericks.

Almost everyone got to throw an innning or two this weekend also.  Overall pitching was pretty good.  Still need to cut down on walks but this weekend was much better than it has been.  Hitting is starting to come around.  We are starting to swing the bats.  Had several hard hit balls that were right at people, as long as we keep swinging the bats those balls will start to find holes!!!  Nolan threw an excellent game in the finals, but Coop hit the ball extremely well all weekend long to snag the Player of the Tournament award!
