Posted Jun 20/14 - Wasted opportunities leave Sox and Yankees tied
The Standings in the Pony League remained unchanged as the Yankees and Red Sox ended in an 8 inning 1-1 tie. The Yankees escape with their 1/2 game lead as 2 crucial base running mistakes on fly balls with a runner on base led to the failure of the sox to pass the Yankees in the standings. The red Sox stranded nine runners including seven in scoring position. The game was cruising along and reached the eighth inning in less than two hours then the skies opened up and downpoured on Diamond one. Dustin Reck tossed a 2 hitter and was dynamic but had to settle for a no decision. The schedule doesnt get any easier on Monday as the streaking White Sox are next up for the Red Sox at 5:30
