| Posted May 8/10 - Update on the Three Rivers Conference AA District 1 Tournament |
| The Sullivan East Patriots beat the Happy Valley Warriors on Saturday by the score of 8-5. The Unicoi Couny Blue Devils beat the Elizabethton Cyclones by the score of 5-1, behind the stellar pitching of Logan Rice. This was a very competitive pitchers duel, but 5 errors killed the Cyclones chances. You cannot make that many mistakes against Unicoi County. The Longhorns will play Elizabethton on Sunday at 4:00. Johnson County will be the visiting team. Happy Valley and Sullivan North play one another after our game. All four teams playing on Sunday have one loss. The loser of these two games is done for the 2010 season. Elizabethton has been playing well recently, and they have super slugger, Jake Davis, in the middle of their lineup. Davis hit two home runs to straight away centerfield this past Wednesday at our ballpark. We do not know who the Cyclones will start on the mound, but we do know that their number one and two pitchers, Taylor Lanthorn, and McKenly Berry, have already started games in the tournament, so we should not see them, but if they need to get out of a jam, they may not hesitate to bring Langhorn in for an out or two. Cody Greer will be making his first ever postseason start for Johnson County. |
