The Northeast Venom 10u
Shock Travel Teams!
Put together in about 10 Days, the girls of the Northeast Venom 10u Team based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA dug into their hearts and never quit. After the first day, which was for seeding, these young athletes pulled together enough runs and held their opponents in check to seed #4.
Come Sunday, their determination never wavered. Stunning the highly experienced travel team from Moscow - the Northeast Wolfpack, the Northeast Venom team outscored them 10-3. With a masterful pitching performance by Olivia Nice and a 2-run home run by Bailey McDermott, the team gained momentum into their 2nd game!
Their second game was against a true set of All-Stars from Dunmore - the Missies. Down by 1 run in the 5th inning, a pair of costly errors cost the Venom the close score. However, in their final at bat, the strong and determined hearts of the Venom Squad kept fighting until the last out.
Down 7-1 going into their last bat, the Venom team struck fast and hard. They did not muster enough runs to win, but did give the spooked Missies a run for their money, finishing out the game at 7-4.
Dunmore lost in the championship game to a well-seasoned Central PA Team - Amy's Angles by a score of 6-0.
