HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University baseball outfielder Cody Pack (Andersonville, TN) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV First Team.  The announcement came late Thursday afternoon from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) organization that recognizes student-athletes for the academic accomplishments while playing college athletics.

He is now a candidate for the ESPN the Magazine All-America Team, which will be announced on May 25.

Pack, a 6'2" junior, is a Pre-medicine major at Lincoln Memorial University carrying a 3.77 grade point average.  During the 2009-10 season, Pack was a 2010 South Atlantic Conference Scholar Athlete nominee and was recently inducted into the Alpha Chi as one of the top-10% of his class.  He has been on the LMU Dean's List for six consecutive semesters and this year served as a member of the Lincoln Memorial University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Civically, he has been involved with the Head Start program in his hometown of Andersonville, Tennessee, and participated last summer in youth baseball improvement in Owensboro, Kentucky while playing summer league baseball there.  For the past two years, Pack volunteered as a ROHO Helper during the Middlesboro ROHO Club's annual Shopping Spree for a select group of area needy children and has participated in LMU's annual Youth Coaches Clinic while also being an active member in his church.

On the field of play the three-year letter-winner leads by example and helped the Railsplitters achieve their first post-season appearance since the 1999 season.  Pack finished the regular season with a .330 batting average, a team-best slugging percentage (.659) and had a .417 on base percentage.  For the year, Pack has recorded 58 hits, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 13 homeruns and 55 RBI.

Next season, Pack will join teammate and fellow senior John Couch (Bonnyman, KY) as the All-South Atlantic Conference selections that will be looking to lead the Railsplitters to their second consecutive conference tournament appearance and hopefully their first South Atlantic Conference title.
