Royals Drop Opening Double-dip to Tribe and go 0-1-1
The Ridge Meadows Royals finnaly opened their exhibition season after two rainouts with a double header against the Tri-City Indians. The Royals were minus 4 players and had some AA call-ups but still showed some promise while going 0-1-1 against a sharp Tri-City squad. Tri-City boasted 13 hits over the two games even though Royals pitching registered 18 K's over the two matches. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw where Ridge Meadows batters stranded 7 batters and registered 6 hits. In the second game, rookie pitcher Kyle Ross was tagged with the loss even though he looked sharp in his first start of the season. Ross tallied 5 K's over 3 innings of work.
The Royals shift their focus to the Cloverdale Spurs tournament on March 26/27 where they hope to continue season preparation for the start of the Bantam AAA regular season play on April the 10th against the Burnaby Braves. |
