Posted Apr 11/11 - RETURN TO ACTION WITH A "W"

After what seemed like an eternity, the Pirates returned to the playing field and downed Renton 10-2 on Monday.  The bats were as active as ever with a season high 16 base knocks on the day.  Jonny Locher, once again, led the offense with a four-for-five performance which included two doubles. one from each side of the plate.  Jonny also scored four runs on the day.  Thomas Farrell had a pair of doubles for Highline.  Nick Mead started on the hill and lasted three innings giving up just two unearned runs.  Junior, Cole Porter came on in relief to pick up his first varsity "W" hurling four scoreless, hitless innings with seven strikeouts to go along with it. Highline has a home game against Hazen on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM at Moshier One.  It's a "must win" situation for the Pirates if they hope to have a shot at the league title.
