Posted Apr 16/11 - PIRATES EXTEND WIN STREAK
Despite the wet weather conditions, Highline managed to get three games in this past week and won them all.  Foster was the latest victim falling 10-0 on Friday afternoon.  It took the Pirates a few innings to show up as they put up zeros in the first two innings before a five run third opened the scoring.  Three hits, three walks and two sacrifices did the damage.  Meanwhile, Junior Jonny Rhodes held the Bulldogs in check allowing just one infield single through three innings.  Highline added four more runs in the fourth thanks to four more free passes.  A single run in the top of the sixth followed by a scoreless bottom of the frame sent Highline home early in the six inning "mercy rule" contest which took only an hour and a half to complete.  The Pirates were led offensively by Jacob Wycick who went 2-for-3, Desmond Drew (2-for-2) and Eric Anderson (2-for-4).  Rhodes got the complete game shut out allowing just two hits and zero walks for the day.  Highline has a full schedule for next week.  Monday we travel to Evergreen for a 3:30 contest.  Tuesday finds Highline at Kennedy at 3:30 and Wednesday the Lancers come to Moshier for a 7:00 PM contest.  Friday is the make-up game with Tahoma.
