The former Morgan Hill Mudcats have relocated to Auburn, California. Team Owner Ken Valencia relocated to Foresthill, Ca. 15 miles outside of Auburn. Coinciding with the move, Valencia has also announced that former Upper Iowa University and Mudcat All Star, Shannon Fernandez has accepted on offer to replace Valencia as the 2011 Mudcat Manager. Valencia will serve as a bench coach and manage baseball operations.

Fernandez, who retired after the 2010 season, has been the Mudcats starting centerfielder since their inception in 2005. "Shannon brings leadership and an underestanding of the game that these younger college players will certainly benefit from", says Valencia. Fernandez recently received his teaching credential and is an Assistant Varsity Coach at Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove. Fernandez said, "This will be a great experience for me. This is a great start for my collegiate coaching career and I look forward to a great summer with a great bunch of ballplayers".
