Posted Apr 26/11 - BALANCED ATTACK SUBDUES STUBBORN TYEE

Highline used three pitchers and a total of eighteen players to down Tyee 9-2 on Tuesday afternoon. The  Totems jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first as Jacob Wydick surrendered three basehits.  Jacob struck out the side in the second.  Highine scored one run in each of the first two innings to tie things up. Ryan Ward came on in relief in the third and shut down Tyee on just one hit through three innings.  Meantime, the Pirates scored two runs in the third and three in the fourth to open up a 7-2 lead.  Nick Mead pitched the final two innings without allowing a base runner to close out the game.  Highline's offense was led by Jonny Locher's triple off the right centerfield wall in the first and Desmond Drew's two RBI double in the fourth. Justin Kemp and Jeremy Evans recorded their first Varsity basehits.  Ben Antush came through with a clutch pinch hit in the seventh.  Highline returns to action on Wednseday night with a 7:00 PM game VS Evergreen.
