| Solid pitching and defense helped Mayville improve to 2-0 on the season. Both teams were held scoreless through 2 innings. In the top of the 3rd, Cameron Woik lead off the inning getting hit by a pitch. He would steal second and Cody Legas then doubled to center to score Woik. Woik lead off the top of the 5th with a double and took 3rd base on a throwing error, Sid Lehman hit a deep sac fly to center to score Woik. In the bottom of the 6th Brownsville scored one run. Both pitchers finished strong, with each only facing 3 batters in their half of the 7th inning. Sid Lehman and Cody Legas turned in outstanding defensive performances. Tony Giese through a complete game recording (7)IP, (7)K, (1)ER, (4)H, & (1)BB. Cody Legas lead the offense going 2-3 with a double & (1)RBI. Mayville host's Jackson on Saturday (6-11) at 2:00pm. |
