The Ridge Meadows Royals had one of the worst Tuesdays recorded in recent history as the day was full of losses...

Early in the day the Royals found out that a successful roster protest by the Vancouver Mounties had taken place and 1B/P Bayley Germain was to be deleted from their roster.  Royals brass was really dissapointed with the decision brought down by BC Minor and the family is really upset that Bayley will not have a place to play baseball for the remainder of the summer... really a sad scenario...

With this in mind the Royals attempted to refocus for a game against the Richmond Chuckers that evening at Pitt Athletic Park.  The Royals came out extremely flat and fell behind 4-0 early to a motivated Chuckers lineup.  With rain pouring down and everyone feeling sorry for themselves matters only got worse when Royals starting shortstop Liam Godfrey went down in a collision with a Richmond base runner.  The news was terrible as Godfrey, after being ambulanced to the hospital, was diagnosed with a badly broken leg and his season was subsequently over.  After the delay in the game the Royals were extremely flat, seeing one of their good friends go down.  The Royals somehow managed to make it to the end of the game with a flattering 7-1 loss.  Even though the Royals didn't bring their best game the Chuckers certainly wanted this one and took it to the Royals.  In the process the Richmond team taught a hard lesson to their Royal counterparts.

Battling through adversity will only make the team stronger and that will start anew after the long weekend...
