The Ridge Meadows Royals eeked out a 2-1 victory over the Tri-City Indians on Tuesday under the sunny skies (yes, sunny!) of Pitt Meadows Athletic Park. Royals batters didn't have their usual offensive punch on this day. That being said, at least 2 rallies were cut short by unfavorable calls on the bases and one botched suicide squeeze. A couple of bright spots were Halstrom's RBI laser up the middle and Stadnik's triple off the right field fence.
Royals pitching was stellar again with Graham Bailey picking up his 8th victory of the season (or so he says). Kole Benard came in and was nothing short of spectacular over his 2 innings of work, fanning 5 Indian batters in the process. Pelletier came in and worked a clean 7th to record the save.
The Royals move their focus to the Richmond Chuckers on Thursday night. Royals are coming off an embarassing 7-1 loss in their last meeting and surely will be ready to take the season series rubber match. |
