Posted Jul 13/11 - Royals Clip Astros in a Well-pitched Game

The Ridge Meadows Royals travelled to Westview Park on Tuesday and pulled out a tight 3-2 victory over the North Delta Astros.  The Royals outhit North Delta by a wide margin but the game still remained close.

MacMaster had a rough start for the Royals as he issued a high number of free passes but no hits.  He surrendered the only two runs of the game early and got into a none-out bases loaded jam in the second.  Evans came out of the pen and got the Royals out of it without giving up a run.  Pelletier came in after for 5 innings of shutout ball while only giving up 2 hits.  The Astros starter was real tough on Royals batsmen, going the distance over 7 IP.  He also limited the Royals on the bases by throwing over and holding the ball throughout the game.

Royals got to the Astros starter when MacMaster, trying to avenge his pitching performance, took the right-hander deep to RF on a frozen rope HR that hit the top of the fence and went over.  Germain got a rally started with a line drive basehit to the opposite field.  Baptista crushed a double off the left field fence to score a run.  In the end the Royals tallied 8 hits to the Astros 2 and won the game behind solid pitching and defense.
