The boys managed to go 2-1 this weekend, with Sundays games getting rained out. 

Game #1 vs. Tushka, Payton got his first start on the hill and did a good job.  Nolan came in and pitched the last two innings and threw an excellent game, but we still ended up on the short end of a 4-1 decision.  Overall a good game, just had a few too many walks. 

Game #2 vs. Tushka was started by Bubba who threw a good game, needed just 5 or 6 pitches to get out of the first inning, until tiring and then gave way to Zane.  Zane came in and finished up the game strong and the Cudas went on to win 4-3.  Still too many walks, but the defense and hitting started to wake up.

Game #3 vs. Sulphur, Hunter got his first start of the season also.  Hunter did an excellent job, needing just 5 pitches to get out of the first inning and pitching two solid innings.  Cooper Hunt who came in to fill in for a couple kids that we had out Saturday pitched the last inning and did a great job to help the Cudas earn a 5-1 win.  Bats looked good and defense is coming around.

The coaches wanted to get a good look at the kids this weekend on the mound and at different positions.  The kids responded pretty well to being moved around and being in different positions and picking up on what was expected of them when at a specific position.  This will be very beneficial next season because the defense will shift here and there depending on who pitches.
